Linda Smith

On the 16th of January 1961, 12 year old Linda Smith of Earls Colne in Essex vanished while out running an errand for her great grandmother. Four days later her body was discovered strangled and dumped in a field near Hadleigh Heath in Suffolk. Her killer has never been found.

The high street in Earls Colne looks almost exactly the same now as it did in January 1961. On the left past the pub you can see the newsagent’s frontage.
